Mailed from Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas to Mr. James F. Duckworth in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 29, 1935:
Dear James,
We left San Antonio Tuesday and spent the night at Austin, the capitol of Texas. Yesterday we drove from Austin to Dallas in a dust storm that you probably read about in the papers. Very disagreeable. Today came on here, rather cloudy and very much colder than it was. This is a very busy spot. There are having horse racing which draws a crowd. Love, Mother
